The Government must ratify the Istananbul Convention

Imkaan are still asking the government why they are yet to ratify the Istanbul Convention which they signed in 2012. The delay can only be deliberate and strategic. At this time of crisis for Black, minoritised and migrant women’s safety Imkaan will be focusing and relying on international conventions to hold the UK government and state to account. Over the next few years, we will be working with a Black and minoritised women’s caucus and the Women’s Resource Centre to prepare for CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) 2023. This work with our members will be starting soon. More to follow….
