Imkaan team members working on the EU/UN Women regional programme, ‘Implementing Norms, Changing Minds’ recently visited organisations working to support minoritised women facing violence in Albania. As part of their visit, they were pleased to attend a play with the Roma and Egyptian Women's Network, at the Teatri Metropol in Tirana. The play was created by a youth group convened by the Network, and aimed to raise awareness about human trafficking.
In her interview for the UN Women Europe and Central Asia blog, Imkaan Exec Director comments: “The regional programme has the potential to contribute to a ‘step change’ at national and regional levels. Creating a space for marginalised women to speak, challenge and influence is an essential part of this.”
